Have you ever been a victim of the limp handshake? I absolutely hate it! I was on the receiving end of one this afternoon in a meeting. Did this guy really think he was SOOO strong that he was in danger of crushing my hand? Do I look that fragile and breakable? I mean, seriously!

Being on the receiving end of a limp handshake gives me the hibee jibees.
I've found that women are worse about it than men though.

I am so with you! It always makes me feel like there's just something creepy going on.
As a guy with relatively large hands, when I shake a small hand (male or female), I do try not to squeeze too hard. I would say I give a 75% shake. But I definitely don't do the limp handshake no matter what, because that's creepy. It's kinda like giving a hug to a very thin or frail person. I would still squeeze, but not as hard.
You might not be aware of it, but there's also the opposite situation: two guys try to prove their toughness by out-shaking each other. I've had that happen to me before and I refused to participate. When I don't increase hand pressure, the other guy gets the message pretty quick and usually backs off.
We just tried it, and Sean's "normal" shake squeezed a little too hard. Then we tried again with his "small hands" shake, and it felt just right.
I HATE the limp shake. I also dislike it when men shake a woman's hand differently. I've had this discussion before with men I know. I always try to give a firm shake no matter what =)Sometimes I get surprised look!
